Swedes invade Vincennes, And I Have A DREAM!

So far this has been one of the best seasons for Swedish trotters in a long time. Hopefully they will continue to show their best side when the grand winter-meeting starts in November.

Some great trotter has shown interest in participating this year, hoping they can still be in good shape in the winter season. I will now present what info I have heard of that can be interesting, who’s going to try to conquer France ?

Quarcio Du Chene: has already made himself heard of, being considerd one of the best 5y olds in Sweden and with a recent victory on Vincennes. Now he is heading towords Svenskt Masterskap (Swedish Championship 2640a on Aby), and if all goes well after that he will race on Vincennes 5th November.

Torvald Palema: Finally the best trotter from Sweden is going to try Prix D’amerique! It’s been a long time…Either they are geldings or to tired and worn by the fall and summer races.

I have a feeling he is best at shorter distance, but it’s honorable to try. Next race is for Torvald also the Swedish Championship SM. Then the plans are to race Prix De Bretagne. I hope he can race well, If he doesn’t – probably no PDA

Commande Crowe: Was not at all in shape last time he visited Vincennes, he sure is now, but being a gelding spoils all the fun. Maybe he can race in some big race open for geldings?
Next race: Swedish Championship

Opal Viking: He keeps on fighting! But the feeling is he’s getting a bit old :( Maybe he can save his last powers and finish in the top 6-7 with a bit of luck in PDA.
Let’s see how he race in italy this weekend.

Maharajah: Well if you had not seen or heard of him before, After the UET final in Tammerfors you sure have! I’m 23 years old and have been following trotting since 1996. And this is for sure the biggest talent I have ever seen in my life, as a 3-4 year old that is. Better than Going Kronos, Victory Tilly, Scarlet Knight who was already at their career hights at that age. This one never seem to get tired, although he is not as carismatic as the earlier horses I named here. If all goes well in The Breeders Crown Semifinals and finals, He is destined to race against the worlds strongest trotter just a couple of months from now. The long distance seems to be only in his favor, his achivement so far over long distance at 5/8-mile tracks has resulted in 2 world records and he also has the Swedish record over 2140am.

Brioni: Was supposed to head for The Elitloppet when he had a accident and has the rest for a while, Maybe he can use that rest and take on some frenchies instead. 2 Victorys so far and I would be surprised if it was his last at the great track of Vincennes. The last thing I heard was that he would have a short break and the either continue to race in France or head back home.

Hot Tub: You know him by now… He will make his last try to win Prix Cornulier.

Nu Pagadi: WoW! Nobody is safe when this colt from Germany enters the track. Now In the hands of Stig H Johansson the former Derby winner is GLOWING! In His last race he made a joke out of Noras Bean who is ranked maybe as number 5-7 in Sweden by horses born 05. Who recently kicked some Italian ass by the way….sorry about that…He has also beaten Maharajah fair and square. This is something special and It would be nice to see him at that big race at the end of this year, Criterium Continental. His future plans are a mystery though.

Noras Bean: Future Plans are Breeders Crown races, then he is interested In Criterium Continental. Very exciting indeed.

Beanie M.M: This is just wishful thinking of my part, This is the most talked about older horse right now in Sweden. Why? Hmm, well becuse he just erased Jag De Bellouet, Lisa America and Triton Sund’s records down the toilette by trotting a new world record on a 5/8- mile track over 2140a with the mind blowing 1.10.7a at Solangets (!) race track, beating Triton Sund along others. His last race he won the final in Gulddivisionen at Solvalla. He is fast from the gate and a very strong horse, so I wish he would race on Vincennes but he will probably rest during the winter.

Other trotters that I would like to see *invade France* is Iceland and Skully Gully.

Who will raise most money then? Well the answer is easy, Maharajah! When I see a duel over 2700 metres Maharajah vs Torvald I see no other outcome then a supreme victory for Stefan Hultmans darling. If he is ready to battle Meaulnes Du Corta or Ready Cash, I don’t know. But I do know that he is probably a second better (or more) than for example Gigant Neo and Opal Viking when they did their best races. If it’s a nice day at Vincennes the last sunday of January it will require a horse capable of running towards the lower mark of 1.11 to beat Maharajah. I Have A DREAM!
